Sean Cooney is an award winning singer, songwriter and storyteller.  Winner of BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2016 and 2015 (Best Group) he has performed his songs at hundreds of festivals in the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada with The Young’uns.

He has composed songs for large scale productions (The Transports 2017), BBC radio (The Ballad of the Great War 2014, 2017) and his songs have been recorded by critically acclaimed artists The Unthanks and Martin Green.

He has worked extensively in education – writing and sharing songs with children from over one hundred schools across the UK since 2007.
